Should I tell my mom my darkest secret...?

I have moderate form of Dissociative Identity Disorder. Moderate enough that I been able to hide it for years. I never wanted her to find out and be upset. But I don't wanna hide it anymore.

Should I save her the stress?? or tell her???

Dissociative amnesia. The main symptom of this condition is memory loss that's more severe than normal forgetfulness and that can't be explained by a medical condition. Amnesia that comes on suddenly following a traumatic event, such as a car accident, is rare. More commonly, you simply can't recall traumatic periods, events or people in your life, especially from childhood.

Dissociative identity disorder. This condition, formerly known as multiple personality disorder, is characterized by "switching" to alternate identities when you're under stress. In dissociative identity disorder, you may feel the presence of one or more other people talking or living inside your head. Each of these identities may have a unique name, personal history and characteristics, including obvious differences in voice, gender, mannerisms and even such physical qualities as the need for corrective eyewear. There also are differences in how familiar each identity is with the others. People with dissociative identity disorder typically also have dissociative amnesia.Should I tell my mom my darkest secret...?
G'day Reveron,

Thank you for your question.

Yes. She is your mother. It may well ease her mind especially if she has noticed something funny and wondered what it was.

Regards
Yes I know what your going through I'm facing it right now. I have synthiea were two wires I'm my brain cross. I know it's sounds weird but it's true. I see colors in letters and sounds the sounds sometimes form into a shape! I would tell her. I did. I think she was really relieved that I told her then cause she would be mad!! Get it over with and then everything is going to be alright. she will love know madder what.Should I tell my mom my darkest secret...?
You need to tell your mother about your DID, it's important especially considering animalistic personalities might harm your family

Trust me, parents prefer a little stress and know now rather than having a lot of stress later (when they have less time to work out treatment)

Also see your doctor about treatments beforehand, if your mother knows there is treatment she might feel a little better
Yeah, i would tell her. i kind of learned about DID in my psych class last year, and it's not as big of a deal as it might seem....... the people in your life should know about it, and it's a lot easier if they do. they'll likely find out on their own eventually, so i would just go ahead and tell them sooner i guess......Should I tell my mom my darkest secret...?
Have you actually been diagnosed or are you just thinking you have it? Unless you have been diagnosed then I suggest you keep it to yourself as no one will believe you with good reason. It is an extremely rare disorder.
Yes, you really need to tell her. She's your mother. She's there to support you no matter what you go through. You don't have to go through something like this without help. Talk to your mom about it.
YES U SHOULD TELL HER SHE'S UR MOTHER SHE STILL WILL LOVE U IF SHE'S A REAL MOTHER. I WORK WITH MENTALLY CHALLENGED PEOPLE FOR THE LAST15 YEARS THE LONGER THIS GOES ON THE HARDER IT WILL BE TO CONTROL OR CURE.
Here's a question for you: why now?

You've kept this secret all this time and now you suddenly feel compelled to burden your mother with it. Why?
Yes! Shes your mom!
YES...YES...YES...tell her asap...shes your mom..she needs to know so she can help you..and dont worry about saving her the stress..what do parents expect when they have kids....it to be easy?? no.
YES! YOU HAVE TO TELL HER!
