What is the difference between dissociative amnesia and regular amnesia or are they the same?

no, not the same, Dis-associative amnesia is a complete shut down of your self. basically like being in a catatonic state. This is what some doctors call, catatonis pyschosis. General amnesia is a memeory loss and a time, place event, or entire memory of who you are or where you belong. What is the difference between dissociative amnesia and regular amnesia or are they the same?
yes there is a difference dissociative amnesia must include significant levels of stress . other causes of amnesia do not necessarily need to involve stress at all.
