Is Dissociative Amnesia a psychological disorder?

I recently had to do a research paper on a psychological disorder, and I chose to do it on dissociative amnesia. However, I received only a 50 because I was told that dissociative amnesia is merely a symptom and not a disorder itself.

Though every site I have looked up says that it is a type of dissociative disorder.

Who is right?Is Dissociative Amnesia a psychological disorder?
There is no such thing as a mental disorder.There is no such thing as a mental disease.It is just a theory presented as fact.There is no science behind it.Any person with half o brain will tell you that.
